Initial Steps
Please note that the interface has changed a little, but the drawing principle remains the same.

The initial screen contains little - just a glyph representing the
output to a file. The output is 'unhappy' (shown as pink) because
it has no input to process. We shall give it some
input. Move the mous to the left of the screen and press
the right mouse button to get a popup menu. Select 'Frame
Source'. A new glyph will appear on the left of the screen.
This is our input file. A dialogue will immediately appear allowing us
to set the file we will use and thee frame range. This file needs
to be MPG1 format.
Choose your file, dismiss the dialogue, and the screen will look like
this:

The input glyph appears on the left of the diagram. Note the black arrow head on the right of the input glyph. This is the
output from the file. Drag it with the mouse until it is over
the output file glyph, and drop it there. The input file
now will feed data to the output file, and both are happy:

See the label on the flow (Flow0)? Double click on that and
you can see the frames of the video flowing across frominput to output.

Cool?
Now if you double click with the mouse on the OutputGlyph you will get the save output dialogue:

Time to move on to the next steps.
